Makassar: Man Arrested for Raping Female Student and Selling Her Belongings for IDR 3 Million
“Feri admitted and confirmed that he had committed the crimes of theft and rape against the victim,” said Head of Sub-Unit 2 of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Makassar City Police, Ipda Supriadi Gaffar, as reported by detikSulsel on Sunday (17/5/2026).
The perpetrator took the victim’s belongings after carrying out his crime. He then fled to Surabaya, East Java.
“The perpetrator admitted that he had sold the victim’s motorcycle and mobile phone to someone named SU for a total of IDR 3 million,” he said.
Supriadi said that the perpetrator initially offered the victim a job as a domestic assistant, specifically as a babysitter. The victim, tempted by the offer, eventually came to the location specified by the perpetrator.
After arriving at the perpetrator’s residence, the victim was asked to stay in a room provided by the perpetrator. The rape occurred on the third day of the victim’s stay at the perpetrator’s rented house.
The police, who conducted an investigation, eventually managed to arrest the perpetrator while he was on the run in Surabaya, East Java, on Saturday (16/5) at around 3:00 p.m. local time. The perpetrator was secured as he arrived on a ship at Tanjung Perak Port, Surabaya.
