Makassar Kominfo Head shares Lontara+ best practices at JFCF 2026
The presence of this application is part of the Makassar City Government’s efforts to deliver services that are easier, faster, integrated and closer to the needs of the community.
Makassar (ANTARA) - Head of the Makassar City Communication and Information Agency Muhammad Roem was one of the speakers discussing the best practices of Lontara+ at the prestigious JAKI & Fellowship Cities Forum (JFCF) 2026.
The forum brought together regional governments, academics, industry and communities as well as stakeholders in the smart city sector in Jakarta on Thursday (20/8).
Through an official statement received in Makassar on Friday, Roem presented the Lontara+ Super App as one of the digital innovations of the Makassar City Government.
“Lontara+ was officially launched on 27 July 2025 as one of the priority programmes of the Makassar City Government. Its presence stems from the condition of the Makassar City Government’s digital services, which were previously scattered across various applications belonging to regional apparatus organisations,” he said.
The presence of this application is part of the Makassar City Government’s efforts to deliver services that are easier, faster, integrated and closer to the needs of the community, enabling the integration of various public services and information in the palm of one’s hand.
It was recorded that at least 358 applications were running separately. Through Lontara+, these services are directed to be integrated gradually into a single digital ecosystem.
“On 17 August 2026, Lontara+ recently launched three new features, namely population administration services, online land and building tax payment, and Makassar Move for physical activity tracking and infrastructure reporting. This is an effort by the Makassar City Government to make it easier for the public to access public services,” Roem explained.
“For Makassar, this space is an opportunity to introduce innovations born from regional needs while opening up opportunities for knowledge exchange with other regions that have experience in developing smart city ecosystems,” he asserted.
Through this forum, Roem hopes to continue strengthening collaboration and the exchange of best practices with other regional governments.
So that digital innovations developed in the regions can provide broader benefits and support the realisation of public services that are increasingly fast, easy, integrated, fair and oriented towards the needs of the community.
Also present at the forum were Muhammad Roem along with several other speakers, namely Director of Regional, Urban and State Border Areas of the Directorate General of Regional Administration Development at the Indonesian Ministry of Home Affairs Amran and Sumedang Regent Dony Ahmad Munir.
