Makassar City Government Curates Regional Investment Potential for IGS 2026
Head of the Makassar City Investment and One-Stop Integrated Services Agency (DPMPTSP), Mario Said, stated that his office is focusing on compiling and curating profiles of Makassar City’s investment potential to be offered at the Indonesia Gastrodiplomacy Series (IGS) 2026. This includes profiles of local companies that will be promoted to foreign investors at the event scheduled for 23–25 June 2026 in Makassar City. “This will also go through a curation process together with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Kemenlu) to ensure that the companies showcased are truly ready to engage in international cooperation,” he explained in Makassar on Wednesday. This involves preparing regional potential profiles and business actor profiles, both for UMKM (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) and private companies. “Insha’Allah, the event will be held at Hotel Indra Makassar, using two main rooms, namely Macora I and Macora II,” he added. In addition, the Makassar City Government is finalising the list of invitees who will attend the forum. Coordination is being carried out across sectors, including with the Regional Secretary and Kemenlu, to ensure the involvement of potential countries. The series of activities will begin with an opening session connecting local business actors with participating countries. “The hope is that direct connections will occur that can lead to concrete cooperation,” he stated. This forum specifically targets member countries of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) as well as friendly nations.
