Majority of Food Commodity Prices Surge One Day Before Eid
Prices of 15 food commodities rose today, Friday, 20 March 2026, or one day before Eid. Only one food commodity had a stable price compared to yesterday: imported soybeans.
Based on data from the Market and Basic Needs Monitoring System (SP2KP) of the Ministry of Trade, the price of imported soybeans today was recorded at Rp13,263 per kilogram. Although it did not rise like the other 15 commodities, the current price of imported soybeans exceeds the reference purchase price (HAP) set at Rp12,000 per kilogram.
On a daily basis, the largest price increase occurred in large red chillies, which rose 1.9% to Rp50,756 per kilogram. This price exceeds the reference purchase price for large red chillies, set at Rp37,000-55,000 per kilogram.
