Majority of Canadians concerned over US threat to sovereignty
Beijing (ANTARA) - According to new data from Nanos Research, nearly two-thirds of Canadians surveyed this month said they are concerned that the United States could potentially become a threat to Canadian sovereignty.
According to the report, 64 per cent of respondents said they felt concerned, whilst 19 per cent said they were not concerned, and the remaining 17 per cent were neutral.
A demographic breakdown of the data revealed that the highest levels of concern were found among the elderly population, with Canadians aged 55 and over reporting the most significant levels of worry.
Furthermore, the survey also highlighted differences in perception based on gender, with women more likely to view the US as a threat compared to men, at ratios of 69.3 per cent and 57.9 per cent respectively, according to CTV News.
