The Government of Majalengka Regency is speeding up road infrastructure repairs to support the Lebaran 2026 mudik. Repairs have already begun in several locations, with a total length of 117 kilometres of roads to be repaired and an allocated budget of Rp143 billion. Procurement is conducted directly to enable faster and more effective construction. However, the acceleration of infrastructure development is not solely about timing; the regent, Eman Suherman, urged businesses and contractors to maintain integrity and avoid any malpractice in project execution, emphasising that quality remains paramount. Contractors are urged to protect public trust by ensuring quality and avoiding any selling or manipulating practices. Currently, repairs are underway at multiple points, with heavy equipment and workers patching potholes and upgrading road structures on sections that have suffered serious damage. He said, “We hope these repairs will not only support smooth traffic during Lebaran, but also improve connectivity between regions and sustainably boost the region’s economic growth.” In Indramayu Regency, the Indramayu Police reported that readiness checks for the Pantura arterial route, the lifeline for mudik travellers, have been conducted. Not only monitoring road conditions, several strategic points will serve as service hubs, including Pos Pam Lingkar Lohbener and Pos Terpadu UPPKB Losarang. The inspection extended to locations such as Pos Pam Jembatan Sewo and Pos Pam Masjid Jami Miftahul Huda in Lohbener District, prepared to serve the public. “Besides infrastructure, our main focus is also to anticipate mudik travellers who are fatigued,” said Public Relations Head Tarno, Ajun Komisaris. Physical fatigue is a major trigger of road accidents. As a solution, the police have prepared rest areas integrated with mosques and security posts along the Pantura arterial route.
