Majalengka Regency supports MRO facility development at BIJB Kertajati
Majalengka Regency, West Java, supports plans to develop a Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) facility at BIJB Kertajati. Regent Eman Suherman stated on Monday that the initiative is expected to revive flight operations and stimulate local economic growth. He stressed the importance of a positive response to the MRO development as part of strengthening the aviation business ecosystem around the airport. Suherman urged stakeholders to view the plan objectively, dismissing any association with military base concerns, as MRO is strictly an aircraft maintenance facility. He noted that the presence of such facilities would attract airlines and aviation industry players, increasing activity at BIJB Kertajati. Suherman expressed confidence that MRO operations would enhance commercial flight traffic, enabling the airport area to regain momentum. “If aircraft maintenance facilities are available in Majalengka, opportunities for commercial flight growth will expand as the business ecosystem develops,” he said.
