Majalengka Regency Distributes 69 Agricultural Machines to Aid Second Planting Acceleration
Majalengka, West Java (ANTARA) - The Majalengka Regency Government, West Java, has distributed 69 units of agricultural tools and machinery (alsintan) to assist in accelerating the second planting season (MT II) in 2026 across its region.
Regent Eman Suherman in Majalengka, West Java, on Monday, stated that the aid, sourced from the Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan), represents a concrete effort by central and local governments to support farmers’ productivity.
He explained that accelerating land cultivation and planting is key to achieving production targets despite weather challenges.
“With this alsintan assistance, the land cultivation and planting processes can be faster, thus maintaining production targets,” he said.
According to him, the agricultural sector in Majalengka Regency currently shows positive performance with a rice surplus achievement of up to 660,000 tonnes.
Eman also emphasised that the distribution of alsintan is based on needs and regional characteristics to ensure optimal utilisation in the field.
“This alsintan must not be sold or pawned. If there is any misuse, we will retrieve it and impose sanctions according to the rules,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Majalengka Agriculture Office, Gatot Sulaeman, detailed that the distributed alsintan includes four four-wheeled tractors, 34 two-wheeled tractors, seven water pumps, 20 hand sprayers, and three excavators.
“We not only distribute the aid but also ensure its sustainable utilisation,” he said.
His side has assigned field agricultural extension officers (PPL) to provide technical guidance to recipient farmer groups, from operation to maintenance of the alsintan.
Gatot mentioned that the presence of alsintan, such as water pumps, serves as a proactive step in facing potential drought during the dry season.
“The local government will conduct periodic monitoring and evaluation to ensure the aid is used as intended,” he stated.
