Maintenance Work on Japek Toll Road Triggers Traffic Congestion

Karawang (ANTARA) - Officers are implementing traffic engineering in the form of contraflow on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road to alleviate traffic congestion triggered by road maintenance activities on that stretch.

Corporate Secretary & Legal of PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol, Ria Marlinda Paallo, stated in Karawang, West Java, on Wednesday that PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol (JTT) supports the police’s discretion in applying contraflow traffic engineering on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road stretch.

She explained that contraflow is being applied from KM 23 to KM 28 towards Cikampek on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road on Wednesday, starting at 11:25 WIB.

Contraflow is implemented to maintain vehicle flow smoothness due to road condition handling at the incident location.

This step is taken as an effort to reduce congestion and ensure smooth traffic flow towards the Jakarta area.

“So, to maintain traffic smoothness and support the handling process at the incident location, contraflow is applied on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road stretch situationally at the police’s discretion,” she said.

JTT apologises for the inconvenience caused by these handling activities and thanks road users for their patience and understanding.

Jasamarga also urges all road users to plan their travel times well, ensure their vehicles are in prime condition, and confirm sufficient electronic money balance before entering the toll road.

Road users are also expected to always obey traffic signs and follow on-site officers’ instructions.

Meanwhile, PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol (JTT) is carrying out routine maintenance for a week on the Jakarta-Cikampek (Japek) Toll Road stretch as part of its commitment to maintaining infrastructure reliability.

Senior Manager of Representative Office 1 of PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol, Amri Sanusi, previously stated that preventive maintenance steps are necessary to ensure the road condition remains optimal, safe, and comfortable for users.

The preventive maintenance activity involves reconstruction of road pavement on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road stretch.

The road pavement activity is being carried out from KM 57+945 to KM 57+845 on lane B towards Jakarta on lane 1, starting on Monday (04/05) at 08:00 WIB until Sunday (10/05) at 02:00 WIB.
