PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero), in collaboration with PT Industri Kereta Api (Persero) or INKA, has completed the maintenance programme for seven KRL iE305/CLI-225 trainsets. All units are now ready for operation and, as of Tuesday, 6 October 2026, have resumed supporting public services on the Bogor Line.

The completion of the programme occurred faster than anticipated. The final trainset was completed on 5 October 2026, four days ahead of the original target date of 9 October 2026. Anne Purba, Vice President of Corporate Communication at KAI, stated that this acceleration was achieved through intensive coordination between KAI and INKA, while ensuring every unit met all safety and reliability requirements before returning to duty.

“The seven trainsets that underwent the maintenance programme are ready and, starting 6 October, are once again supporting public services on the Bogor Line. The entire programme was completed four days ahead of the final target, following rigorous inspection and testing phases before the units were declared operational,” Anne said in a written statement in Jakarta on Monday (5/10/2026).

Anne noted that the work was carried out gradually since September 2026. Of the seven trainsets, two were completed on schedule, while the remaining five were finished between one to six days ahead of their respective targets. “One trainset was even completed six days early, moving from a target of 5 October to 29 September 2026,” Anne added.

The returning KRL units are SF12 configurations, consisting of 12 carriages per trainset. The readiness of these SF12 units is vital for supporting service capacity on routes with high passenger mobility. The Bogor Line remains one of the busiest routes within the Jabodetabek Commuter Line network; between January and August 2026, it served 105,704,913 passengers, averaging approximately 435,000 passengers per day.

“The return of these seven trainsets increases the readiness of our rolling stock to serve public mobility on the Bogor Line. While the accelerated completion is a positive result, safety remains our primary standard before any unit is returned to service,” said Anne.

Overall, the Jabodetabek KRL service served 277,272,682 passengers from January to August 2026, representing a 6.32 per cent increase compared to the 260,797,109 passengers recorded during the same period in 2025.

Anne added that KAI, alongside KAI Commuter and INKA, continues to maintain rolling stock readiness to support the travel needs of the Jabodetabek population. “With the completion of this maintenance programme, seven trainsets can once again support the service capacity of the Bogor Line. KAI, together with KAI Commuter and INKA, will continue to ensure the readiness and reliability of our fleet to serve public mobility,” she concluded.
