Maintaining main stadium

From Kompas

As a jogger who exercises daily outside the main stadium of
Bung Karno Sports Complex, I feel concerned over the poor
condition of the arena, which was once the pride of the nation
and is claimed to be the largest in Southeast Asia.

With its paint work fading and peeling, the aging building
looks like it has become a sanctuary for birds. Its water pipes
are leaking and its toilets produce a very offensive smell.

Bung Karno's management has so far creatively raised funds by
utilizing the various assets available. There is actually nothing
preventing it from allocating a certain percentage of the
stadium's maintenance budget.

Private circles, meanwhile, would also be prepared to get
involved in the accumulating funds to keep the stadium in good
shape, if so desired by the board of managers.
