Main Suspect in 'Taufik Hidayat'-Style Confinement Case in Cikarang Arrested
Police have arrested a man with the initials HSLT, the suspected main perpetrator in a case of alleged assault and unlawful confinement of a woman with the initials TS in South Cikarang, Bekasi Regency, West Java.
“It is true, the main perpetrator with the initials HSLT has been arrested,” said the Head of Public Relations for Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Budi Hermanto, when contacted on Sunday (19 July).
However, Budi has not yet disclosed details of the arrest, including when and where the suspect was apprehended.
Budi only said that the suspect, HSLT, is currently being intensively questioned by investigators from the Criminal Investigation Unit of Polres Metro Bekasi.
“He is currently undergoing intensive questioning by investigators. Further developments regarding the case will be announced in the Polres Metro Bekasi press release on Monday,” he said.
Earlier, police had been investigating a case involving a woman whose face was injured, allegedly after being assaulted and held captive by her boyfriend in Cikarang, Bekasi Regency, West Java.
According to the victim’s report, she had been in a relationship with her boyfriend since April 2025. The two then lived together in the South Cikarang area.
“On 29 June 2026, the victim and the reported suspect (HSLT) became involved in a dispute. The suspect is alleged to have repeatedly committed violence against the victim until 8 July 2026, resulting in the victim sustaining bruises on her face and hands,” said Budi on Thursday (16 July).
Based on preliminary findings, police suspect the assault and confinement were triggered by HSLT’s jealousy towards the victim.
“The motive was jealousy. The boyfriend accused his girlfriend, the victim, of seeing someone else. That was the motive,” said the Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of Polres Metro Bekasi, AKBP Jerico Lavian Chandra, when contacted on Thursday (16 July).
Police had earlier arrested one individual, an employee of HSLT, who is suspected of involvement in assisting the crime.
