Police have arrested a man with the initials HSLT, who is believed to be the main suspect in the alleged assault and confinement of a woman with the initials TS in South Cikarang, Bekasi Regency, West Java. “It is true, the main suspect with the initials HSLT has been arrested,” said Polda Metro Jaya Head of Public Relations, Senior Commissioner Budi Hermanto, when confirmed on Sunday (19/7). However, Budi has not yet disclosed the chronology of the suspect’s arrest, including when and where the suspect was detained. Budi only mentioned that the suspect, HSLT, is currently undergoing intensive examination by investigators from the Bekasi Metro Police Criminal Investigation Unit. “He is currently undergoing intensive examination by investigators. Further developments regarding the case will be conveyed in a Bekasi Metro Police release on Monday,” he said. Previously, police were investigating the case of a woman with facial injuries who was allegedly abused and confined by her boyfriend in Cikarang, Bekasi Regency, West Java. Based on the victim’s report, she had been in a relationship with her boyfriend since April 2025. The couple then lived together in the South Cikarang area. “On 29 June 2026, the victim and the reported party (HSLT) became involved in a dispute. The reported party is suspected of repeatedly committing violence against the victim until 8 July 2026, resulting in the victim sustaining bruises on her face and hands,” said Budi on Thursday (16/7). From preliminary findings, police suspect the assault and confinement were triggered by HSLT’s jealousy towards the victim. “The motive was jealousy. So, the boyfriend accused his girlfriend, the victim, of having someone else. That was the motive,” said Bekasi Metro Police Criminal Investigation Unit Head, Adjunct Senior Commissioner Jerico Lavian Chandra, when contacted on Thursday (16/7). Police had previously arrested one other perpetrator, an employee of HSLT, who is suspected of being involved in assisting the act.
