Main Construction Begins, Summarecon Mall Makassar Poised to Become Integrated Area in Eastern Indonesia
PT Summarecon Agung Tbk (Summarecon) reports that the construction of Summarecon Mall Makassar has completed the foundation work, and in the near future will enter the main construction phase, marked by the installation of a tower crane in mid-2026.
Summarecon Director, Soegianto Nagaria, stated that the development of Summarecon Mall Makassar is an important part of the integrated area development of Summarecon Mutiara Makassar, as a new activity centre in eastern Indonesia.
This area continues to grow through the presence of education, sports, and lifestyle facilities, as well as the hosting of various national-scale events throughout 2026.
The development of Summarecon Mall Makassar strengthens the position of Summarecon Mutiara Makassar as an integrated area that continues to grow and brings various new activities for the community.
“We want to promote this area as a centre for business, lifestyle, and national-scale activities in eastern Indonesia,” said Soegianto in his statement on Saturday, 9 May 2026.
Summarecon Mall Makassar is built on a 10.6-hectare plot with a family mall concept, neighbourhood mall, as well as a one-stop shopping destination. This shopping centre will present integrated indoor and outdoor areas with various other commercial facilities such as office spaces, parks, and parking areas.
Summarecon Mall Makassar will feature various flagship tenants, from supermarkets, cinemas, department stores, to The Downtown Walk, as a culinary tourism destination with an alfresco dining concept in a cool and comfortable outdoor atmosphere, accompanied by daily live music entertainment.
“The commitment to developing Summarecon Mutiara Makassar is not only focused on housing but also on providing lifestyle support facilities for the community,” he said.
Executive Director of Summarecon Mutiara Makassar, Indra Widjaja Antono, stated that the area development is carried out to create an integrated city that supports community growth and economic activities in Makassar.
“Summarecon Mutiara Makassar continues to be developed as an integrated city that not only provides housing but also education facilities, lifestyle, and activity spaces that can drive community growth and economic activities around it,” he said.
