Mahfud Proposes Febrie Adriansyah Case Be Transferred to KPK, Here's the Palace's Response
State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi has responded to proposals that the case of former Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) Febrie Adriansyah be transferred to the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). The National Police’s Corruption Eradication Corps (Kortastipidkor) has stated it is handing over the handling of Febrie’s case to the Attorney General’s Office.
According to Prasetyo, all parties must respect the ongoing legal process. “The important thing, in my opinion, is that we all, once again as I have repeatedly said, let us respect the entire legal process,” Prasetyo told reporters at the Parliament Complex in Senayan, Central Jakarta, on Wednesday, 15 July 2026.
Prasetyo stressed that President Prabowo Subianto has repeatedly reminded government ranks not to engage in corrupt practices. “The President, as both head of state and head of government, has repeatedly reminded all of us, especially government officials, to improve ourselves and eliminate the practices we mentioned earlier,” he explained.
Previously, the Police’s Corruption Eradication Corps (Kortastipidkor) announced on 6 July 2026 an investigation into alleged corruption and money laundering in the procurement and supply of coal for several steam power plants for the 2018-2026 period. On 8 July 2026, Kortastipidkor began searching several locations. Police explained these searches were related to three cases: the coal supply corruption announced two days earlier, alleged corruption in Asabri and Jiwasraya insurance from 2020-2025, and a suspected money laundering case involving debt settlement between PT CBS and PT KNI under the jurisdiction of Polda Metro Jaya.
Febri Adriansyah, while still serving as Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes, held a press conference on 10 July 2026. He acknowledged that a house in Sentul, Bogor Regency, West Java, which had been searched by Kortastipidkor, belonged to him. In the early hours of 11 July 2026, the Attorney General’s Office announced that Febrie Adriansyah had resigned from his position as Jampidsus and that Attorney General ST Burhanuddin had accepted the resignation. Later that afternoon, Kortastipidkor announced two suspects in connection with the three cases, one of whom was Febrie Adriansyah.
