Mahfud MD: Police Academy Recruitment Must Not Involve Nepotism as One of Polri Reform Commission's Recommendations
JAKARTA - A member of the Polri Reform Acceleration Commission, Mahfud MD, stated that conducting Police Academy (Akpol) recruitment transparently without any nepotistic channels is one of the recommendations from the Polri Reform Acceleration Commission.
“What has already been announced is just one thing. Akpol recruitment must not involve nepotism from anyone,” said Mahfud MD after attending the launch of Jimly Asshiddiqie’s book in Senayan, Jakarta, on Tuesday (21/4/2026).
He added that Polri has also announced that the 2026 Akpol recruitment will take place without nepotistic channels.
“Polri has announced that starting this year, there will be no nepotism. If anyone claims to have influence to get accepted, it’s all lies, so ignore it. We’ll see the outcome of this year’s recruitment,” he said.
“Yes, that’s the announcement. Whether it’s in the form of a police regulation or something else, we’ll see,” he added.
