Mahayastra Leads Pancasila Anniversary Commemoration at Gianyar Regency Office
Gianyar Regent I Made Mahayastra led the 2026 Pancasila Anniversary commemoration ceremony at his office on Monday, 1 June 2026. He stated that public policies must adhere to the principle of social justice, which includes guaranteeing citizens’ rights and protecting vulnerable groups, while challenging all forms of intolerance, radicalism, and ideologies disrupting societal harmony. Religious values, unity, humanity, and justice form the foundational pillars of national life, with the younger generation urged to integrate Pancasila into daily living. ‘Do not let these noble values remain mere wall decorations or historical text,’ Mahayastra urged. He also highlighted Indonesia’s role as a global player, noting its independent and active foreign policy advances world order based on independence, perpetual peace, and social justice—mandated by the Preamble of the 1945 Constitution. Concrete examples include UN peacekeeping contributions and regional conflict mediation efforts. ‘Pancasila is our moral anchor in confronting global turbulence, from technological disruption to geopolitical dynamics. It is not only relevant for preserving Indonesia’s unity but also a crucial foundation for sustainable global peace,’ he stated. The commemoration included a flag ceremony and awards for the 2026 Gianyar Regency Government Archiving Unit Competition winners, presented by Mahayastra to district officials demonstrating excellence in record management.
