Mahathir inspects Matsushita's expo

TOKYO (AFP): Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad
yesterday toured a technical exhibition in the western Japanese
city of Osaka, sponsored by Matsushita Electric Industrial Co.
Ltd.

The display was offered for Mahathir who arrived in Japan on
Tuesday, officials of the largest consumer electronics maker in
Japan said.

Mahathir also met Matsushita president Yoichi Morishita for
about 30 minutes and urged Matsushita's participation in
Malaysia's special multimedia zone, they said.

Mahathir ended his official schedule yesterday but will
proceed to Fukuoka later in the day for a private visit on the
southern island of Kyushu where he will present a keynote
address.
