DEPOK, KOMPAS.com - The Mahakam Stadium in Bakti Jaya, Sukmajaya, Depok City, West Java, is temporarily closed for maintenance.

The stadium’s pitch was flooded when heavy rain hit the Depok City area some time ago.

Currently, the Depok City Housing and Settlement Office is carrying out maintenance on the pitch, and the Mahakam Stadium will be closed for 30 days.

“In connection with the Mahakam Stadium maintenance period, we are carrying out repairs to the pitch area, starting on 11 May 2026, and it will take 30 calendar days,” said Adnan, quoted from Wartakotalive, Saturday (16/5/2026).

These repairs are being carried out by a third party as part of the stadium’s ongoing maintenance following its 2025 rehabilitation.

Technically, the repairs include lifting the grass in the flooded area, adding drainage pipes, re-levelling using layers of stone and sand, and then covering it with grass again.

“This work is being done to ensure that the pitch functions optimally again,” he said.

During the maintenance period, the Mahakam Stadium will be temporarily unavailable to support the smooth running of the work and maintain the quality of the repairs.
