Magnitude 7.0 Earthquake Strikes Tana Tidung, North Kalimantan

According to a report from BMKG (Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency) posted on its X account, the earthquake occurred on Sunday (22/2/2026) at 23:57 Western Indonesian Time (WIB). The earthquake’s coordinates were located at 6.99°N latitude and 166.27°E longitude.

“This information prioritises speed, so the data processing results are not yet stable and may change as more complete data becomes available,” the agency stated.
