Magnitude 6.7 Earthquake Strikes Off Indonesia's Maluku Islands
A magnitude 6.7 earthquake was recorded today off the Indonesian Maluku Islands in the east of the country, according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS). The quake, which occurred at a depth of 80 kilometres, was located approximately 177 kilometres west of the city of Tual in the province of East Maluku. Despite the intensity of the tremor, the Pacific Tsunami Warning Centre ruled out any tsunami risk.
