A magnitude 6.1 earthquake struck Tahuna in the Sangihe Islands, North Sulawesi, on Tuesday evening. The earthquake occurred at 22:49 Western Indonesian Time, with its epicentre located at 5.27 degrees North latitude and 125.18 degrees East longitude. The quake’s epicentre was 187 kilometres northwest of Tahuna at a depth of 10 kilometres. BMKG noted that the information prioritised speed, meaning the data processing results were not yet stable and could change as more complete data became available. There have been no reports of damage caused by the earthquake so far.
