Magnitude 4.6 Earthquake Strikes Tangerang

An earthquake measuring magnitude 4.6 struck Tangerang Regency, Banten, at a depth of 160 kilometres.

“Earthquake Mag: 4.6, (3 km south-east of Tangerang Regency, Banten),” the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) wrote in an official post on X on Saturday (21/2/2026).

The earthquake was recorded at 19:23 Western Indonesian Time (WIB). The epicentre was located at coordinates 6.27 degrees South Latitude and 106.51 degrees East Longitude.

As of the time of reporting, no further information regarding the impact of the earthquake had been released.

“This information prioritises speed, and as such, the data processing results are not yet stable and may change as more complete data becomes available,” the agency wrote.
