Magnitude 4.6 Earthquake Shakes Banten

A magnitude 4.6 earthquake shook Muarabinuangeun, Banten, this afternoon. The epicentre was 39 kilometres south of Muarabinuangeun.

“Earthquake information: magnitude 4.6,” BMKG wrote on its social media account on Monday (12 October 2026).

The earthquake occurred at 12.19pm Western Indonesian Time, at coordinates 7.16° south and 105.75° east. It was 20 kilometres deep.

No further information about the earthquake was immediately available.
