Magnitude 2.5 Earthquake Strikes Sukabumi City
Jakarta — An earthquake measuring magnitude 2.5 struck Sukabumi City, West Java, at a depth of 110 kilometres.
Through its X account, the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) reported that the earthquake occurred on Monday (16 February 2026) at 00.52 Western Indonesian Time (WIB). The epicentre was located 24 kilometres southeast of Sukabumi City.
The coordinates of the earthquake were 7.09 degrees south latitude and 107.07 degrees east longitude.
BMKG noted that earthquake information may change as data becomes more complete. “Disclaimer: This information prioritises speed, so the data processing results are not yet stable and may change as data is completed,” it stated.
There have been no reports of casualties or damage from the event.
