Magetan — The Magetan Regent, Nanik Endang Rusminiarti, conducted inspections at multiple Nutritional Service Units (Satuan Pelayanan Pemenuhan Gizi/SPPG) to ensure that food quality in the Free Nutritious Meal Programme (Makan Bergizi Gratis/MBG) is safe and suitable for consumption.

Several SPPG units visited included facilities on Jalan Bromo, Jalan Ndoyo, and Candirejo SPPG on Jalan Monginsidi in Magetan. During the inspection, the regent was accompanied by the Magetan Regional Secretary, the Head of the Health Office, the Head of the Education Office, and the Head of the Environmental Affairs Office.

“The primary objective of this inspection is to directly observe and ensure that all SPPG units in Magetan Regency carry out their duties with discipline in accordance with standard operating procedures,” she stated in Magetan, East Java, on Friday.

Nanik emphasised that despite entering the month of Ramadan, she ensured that all food processing procedures adhere to standard operating procedures, including compliance with nutritional values and food hygiene standards served to beneficiaries.

The Regional Coordinator of the MBG Programme in Magetan Regency, Dyah Putri Kustia Dewi, stated that Magetan currently has 53 active SPPG units out of a total of 60 SPPG units that have received formal approval letters.

“A total of 53 SPPG units are currently operational. We continue to provide support to ensure the remaining units begin full operations in the near future,” said Dyah.

She explained that although it is Ramadan, MBG distribution continues to be carried out in schools. However, during Ramadan, the meals are provided in dry form to be taken home and consumed at iftar time, whilst continuing to maintain nutritional values, including dates, boiled eggs, bread, and fruit.
