Magelang UMKM Exports 20 Tonnes of Wood Pellet to Kuwait
PT Haafa Wirama Lestari, a micro, small and medium enterprise (UMKM) from Temanggung, Central Java, has successfully exported 20 tonnes of wood pellet to Kuwait on Friday, 3 March 2026, valued at USD 3,200.
Wood pellet is an alternative fuel made from sawdust or other materials, used for room heating or as fuel in cooking stoves. The raw materials for wood pellet production typically come from sawmill industry waste, timber felling waste and other industrial waste.
The wood pellet export was directly assisted by Magelang Customs, which is committed to facilitating businesses in expanding their markets internationally.
“Through this mentoring, Customs hopes that more UMKMs in the Magelang region and surrounding areas will be able to increase their product competitiveness in the global market and optimally utilise export opportunities,” said Head of Magelang Customs Office, Nugroho Wigijarto.
He also noted that this export serves as evidence that regional UMKM products have significant potential for acceptance in international markets. Going forward, Magelang Customs will continue to strengthen collaboration and mentoring for business operators so that more UMKMs will be emboldened to penetrate export markets and contribute to national economic growth.
