Maersk Logistics Indonesia Becomes Bonded Logistics Centre
The Regional Office of Customs and Excise for Central Java and Yogyakarta has granted approval for a Bonded Logistics Centre (PLB) facility to Maersk Logistics Indonesia, located in Semarang City.
Head of the Central Java and Yogyakarta Customs Office, Agus Yulianto, said this approval is part of efforts to promote the smooth flow of logistics while strengthening the competitiveness of export-oriented industry and trade in Central Java.
“Through the PLB facility, Maersk Logistics Indonesia will support the storage and management of various commodities linked to international trade activities,” he said in a statement on Friday (28/8/2026).
Commodities to be exported include ready-made garments, bags, footwear, and suitcases, with export destinations in Europe. Meanwhile, imported commodities consist of raw materials for the garment industry.
The PLB facility is expected to support the availability of raw materials and improve supply chain management efficiency for export-oriented industrial activities.
In terms of investment, Maersk Logistics Indonesia recorded an investment value of Rp 13,043,193,227. This is projected to continue rising to reach Rp 17,803,964,215 by 2030.
This reflects the company’s commitment to developing logistics activities and supporting the growth of international trade. Agus noted that the PLB approval is also a demonstration of Customs’ support for strengthening the logistics ecosystem in Central Java.
“With increasingly efficient logistics management, the PLB facility is expected to provide added value for business operators, facilitate the distribution of goods, and support the increase of Indonesian exports to global markets,” he explained.
Agus emphasised that through synergy between the government and the business community, the Central Java and Yogyakarta Customs Office continues to encourage the use of customs facilities as an instrument to create a more competitive, efficient business climate oriented towards national economic growth.
