Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung expressed his hope that the Madurese community in Jakarta, particularly those affiliated with the Ikatan Keluarga Madura (IKAMA) across DKI Jakarta, will continue to play a role in maintaining the condition of the city.

“I expect IKAMA to be directly involved in always safeguarding Jakarta. There are always rumours, issues, and so forth, but I am confident that the solidarity of Jakarta’s community is extraordinary,” said Pramono during the inauguration ceremony for the Regional Leadership Council (DPW) and Branch Leadership Council (DPC) of IKAMA across DKI Jakarta at City Hall, Jakarta, on Wednesday.

He assessed that the Madurese philosophy of Bhuppa’ Bhabhu’ Ghuru Rato, which teaches respect for parents, teachers, and leaders, can serve as a foundation for building harmonious relations between the community and the government.

“This philosophy of obedience and respect for parents, teachers, and the regional government makes IKAMA a strategic partner in nurturing harmony, strengthening tolerance, and maintaining social stability in Jakarta,” said Pramono.

Meanwhile, Chairman of the Central Executive Board (DPP) of IKAMA, Muhammad Rawi, stated that all levels of IKAMA are ready to synergise with the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government in implementing development programmes.

This synergy is strengthened through the micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) sector, neighbourhood order, social activities, and security.

“Fifty years ago, we were established to serve while also carrying out economic, social, cultural, and educational activities. God willing, going forward, we will synergise with other community organisations to build Jakarta,” said Rawi.
