Madiun District Head Caught Playing Mobile Game During Council Plenary Session
A district head (Camat) in Madiun Regency, East Java, has been caught playing a mobile game during a Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) plenary session. A video of the incident involving Muksin Harjoko has since gone viral.
In the 18-second video circulating online, a man wearing a black suit and a black cap (peci) is seen staring intently at his mobile phone screen, which displays the visuals of an online game. The man appeared to be playing the game seriously, even as the plenary session was solemnly underway in the background.
Muksin admitted that he was the person in the viral video. He explained that the meeting took place on Friday, 26 June 2026. He claimed he was playing the game to relieve fatigue and drowsiness, and acknowledged that his actions had created a negative perception.
“I realise that this action has caused a negative perception. In fact, at that time it was still the pre-event of the plenary session. I did it to relieve fatigue and drowsiness,” Muksin said on Saturday (18 July). He emphasised that his presence at the session was as an invited guest in his capacity as district head. “Every plenary session, all district heads are invited,” he added.
