Madiun District Attorney's Office Destroys Evidence from 21 Criminal Cases
The Madiun District Attorney’s Office in East Java has destroyed evidence from 21 criminal cases that have obtained permanent legal force (inkrah) during the period of May to July 2026, with narcotics cases being the most frequently handled. Head of the Madiun District Attorney’s Office Achmad Hariyanto Mayangkoro stated that the role of the prosecutor’s office is not limited to prosecution or investigation of certain criminal acts, but also includes a crucial function as the executor of court decisions that have acquired permanent legal force. “This activity is a routine destruction of evidence from cases that have permanent legal force during the period from May to July,” Achmad Hariyanto said during the destruction event held in the office yard on Wednesday. He explained that the destruction of evidence constitutes the execution of evidence from general criminal cases, which, according to the court ruling, is ordered to be “confiscated for destruction”. The evidence destroyed originated from 21 general crime cases that had permanent legal force between May and July 2026. Head of the Asset Recovery and Evidence Management Section of the Madiun District Attorney’s Office, Bagas Andy Setiyawan, said that among the destroyed evidence, narcotics cases were the most dominant. The destroyed items included 11.071 grammes of methamphetamine, methamphetamine smoking devices (bongs), one digital scale, and six mobile phones suspected of being used in narcotics offences. Additionally, evidence from other general criminal cases was destroyed, including 12 sets of clothing, identity cards (KTP), ATM cards, screwdrivers, and various other items related to theft and other criminal acts. The evidence was destroyed to ensure it no longer has any utility and cannot be misused. The destruction was carried out using different methods depending on the type of item, such as burning, cutting, and crushing, so that the items cannot be reused. Through this activity, the Madiun District Attorney’s Office affirmed its commitment to professionally, with integrity, and responsibly executing every court ruling in order to achieve fair law enforcement, legal certainty, and benefit for the community. The destruction activity was also attended by Madiun Police Chief AKBP Ridwan Maliki, representatives from the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda), and officials from the Madiun District Attorney’s Office.
