Jakarta, VIVA — Deputy for Investment Promotion at the Ministry of Investment and Downstreaming/BKPM, Nurul Ichwan, revealed that French President Emmanuel Macron's visit to Indonesia brought investment commitments, as French companies will invest in solar panels in the country.

Nurul did not disclose the specific names of the companies that will invest in Indonesia. However, he confirmed that these companies will develop renewable energy projects.

"There are several investors, at least some. I cannot yet declare the company names — these are business dealings between Indonesia and companies in France that will build renewable energy," said Nurul at the Mangkuluhur Hotel, Jakarta, on Wednesday, 28 May 2025.

Nurul explained that the renewable energy projects will be used for existing industries, which will result in environmentally friendly products.

"The renewable energy will be used for industries that already exist, producing products that become environmentally friendly. This will give them a much greater possibility of entering the European market," he said.

Regarding the renewable energy projects, Nurul clarified that the investment would be in solar panels. "The renewable energy will be solar panels," he said.
