MacBook Pro with OLED Touch Screen Confirmed for 2026 Release

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Apple is reportedly set to release its laptop product, the MacBook, with a touch screen OLED display this year, and it will feature a Dynamic Island display, similar to the one implemented on the iPhone.

This news was reported by Macrumors on Tuesday (24/2), which stated that the Dynamic Island on the MacBook touch screen will replace the notch or ‘poni’ found in previous generations.

This information was first reported by Bloomberg, and if true, it will provide more screen space for content, just like the Dynamic Island on the iPhone.

With this change in appearance, it is likely that the Dynamic Island on the MacBook will provide a more interactive experience. The emergence of the touch screen MacBook may also encourage Apple to update macOS to be more friendly to touch gestures.

Touch-based options may also be integrated throughout macOS, and features that can be found on the iPad, such as pinch gestures to zoom in or out of content, may be found on the touch screen MacBook.

Along with the touch screen and OLED display technology, the new MacBook Pro may have an updated design with a slimmer chassis, but the appearance will be very similar to the current MacBook Pro.

Other possible changes are on the chip side, the MacBook Pro OLED may be equipped with the M6 Pro and M6 Max chips built on Apple’s new 2nm process.

The OLED MacBook Pro model is expected to be launched towards the end of 2026. With the news that Apple will release the MacBook Pro next week, it means that Apple is planning two MacBook Pro updates in 2026, one at the beginning of the year and one at the end of the year.
