MacBook Neo 2026: Specifications and Price, Apple’s Cheapest Laptop with an iPhone Chip

Apple has officially introduced its newest laptop line, the MacBook Neo, in March 2026. The product is designed as Apple’s most affordable laptop in modern history, aimed at challenging the dominance of Chromebooks and Windows laptops in the student segment. The biggest surprise of the MacBook Neo is the use of the A18 Pro chipset. This is the first time Apple has embedded an A-series chip that normally features in iPhones into a Mac device. With a 6-core CPU and a 5-core GPU, the laptop is claimed to remain nimble when running macOS, and to deliver up to three times faster performance for AI-based workloads than competitors in its price range. The MacBook Neo features a fresh aluminium design with rounded corners. Weighing only 1.23 kg, the laptop is highly portable for carrying to school or campus. Apple also offers bold colour options such as Citrus (yellow) and Blush (pink), which are also applied to the colour of its Magic Keyboard. To bring the price down to USD 599 (about Rp10.1 million), Apple has cut several features. Based on global launches, below are estimated prices for the MacBook Neo in Indonesia (in Rupiah).
