JAKARTA – PT Mobil Anak Bangsa (MAB) is preparing to introduce its latest micro electric vehicle, the Solarky Sun V, to the Indonesian market. The Solarky Sun V stands out among micro electric vehicles due to its solar panels fitted on the roof. The project is a collaboration between PT Mobil Anak Bangsa (MAB) as the local assembler, Solarky Hong Kong as the technology owner, and PT Fortuna Ventura Investindo as the official distributor. ‘I should clarify that MAB’s role in this project is as the assembler for the Solarky vehicle, while sales and distribution are handled by our partner company,’ Rofiqi told Kompas.com in Bekasi, West Java, on Tuesday, 26 May 2026. Rofiqi stated that the Solarky Sun V is currently on display in Tangerang, with the exhibition used to gauge public response ahead of the official launch. He added that the company aims to build public enthusiasm for the micro electric vehicle before its official market release. ‘We hope to generate new hype, allowing the public to see the vehicle firsthand and provide feedback. Based on this, we will determine the launch date, likely in June or July this year,’ he said. ‘Yes, it is assembled in Demak,’ Rofiqi confirmed. Design-wise, the Solarky Sun V features a boxy, angular design typical of modern micro electric vehicles. The front is equipped with retro-style round headlights with LED accents, while the roof is fitted with solar panels to aid battery charging. Its dimensions are compact at 3,150 mm long, 1,491 mm wide, and 1,590 mm tall without the solar panels.
