JAKARTA – The MAB Solarky Sun V is a new microelectric vehicle scheduled to launch in Indonesia in mid-2026.

The Sun V is the first locally assembled battery-powered electric vehicle with integrated solar panels in Indonesia. Manufacturing takes place at MAB’s plant in Demak, Central Java.

In terms of design, the Sun V stands out with its unique and eye-catching appearance. It features a boxy style that is currently popular in the microelectric vehicle segment.

The Solarky Sun V’s design recalls Vietnam’s VinFast VF 3, which also uses a boxy micro-SUV electric concept.

Its dimensions measure 3,150mm in length, 1,491mm in width, and 1,590mm in height without solar panels, or 1,700mm with them. The wheelbase is 2,070mm.

On both sides, round headlights with LED ring accents give a retro-modern feel reminiscent of Japanese kei cars.

The compact body with short overhangs creates a nimble impression for urban use.

One of the most striking features is the integrated solar panels on the roof. These panels can be opened when needed to assist battery charging.

Beyond a futuristic look, this feature makes the Sun V appear like a modern concept vehicle.

Meanwhile, the spare wheel cover on the boot door serves as a striking visual feature.
