MA Rachman appoints five deputies

JAKARTA: Attorney General M. Abdurrachman on Monday installed
five new deputies, all career prosecutors, to help him with the
mounting challenges facing his office.

Bachtiar Fachri Nasution, previously Junior Attorney General
for General Crimes, is the new Junior Attorney General for
Special Crimes. He has filled the position vacated by Rachman, as
the attorney general is known, since the latter's appointment to
the number one post in August.

Haryadi B Widiasa, previously chief of the South Sumatra
Prosecutors Office, is the new Junior Attorney General for
General Crimes, replacing Bachtiar.

Suchri is the new Junior Attorney General for Guidance after
spending some time working as secretary to the previous occupant
of the position.

Basrief Arief, previously chief of the Jakarta Prosecutors
Office, is the new Junior Attorney General for Intelligence. He
replaces Khalid Karim Leo.

Achmad Lopa, the chief of South Sulawesi Prosecutors Office,
is the new Junior Attorney General for Supervision. Achmad is the
younger brother of Baharuddin Lopa, the attorney general who died
earlier this year. -- JP
