M7.0 Earthquake Shakes NTT, BMKG Issues Tsunami Warning

The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) has issued a tsunami warning for the East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) region. The warning follows a magnitude 7.0 earthquake that occurred on Saturday (15/8) at 04:58 WIB. The earthquake struck 38 kilometres northeast of Mbay-Nagekeo, NTT, at a depth of 10 kilometres. Residents are asked to follow the instructions of the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) and the BMKG to move to higher ground and stay away from coastal areas.
