The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) has reported that an earthquake occurred in Cianjur, West Java. The earthquake, with a magnitude of 3.5, occurred on land.

According to BMKG reports, the earthquake took place on Saturday (6/6/2026) at approximately 19:57 WIB. The epicentre was located at 6.92 south latitude and 107.12 east longitude.

“The centre of the earthquake is on land, 11 km southwest of Cianjur Regency,” stated BMKG.

The earthquake occurred at a depth of 7 km. Tremors were felt in several areas, extending as far as Sukabumi.

Some areas experienced an intensity of II MMI, where vibrations were felt by some people and light hanging objects swayed. Other areas experienced an intensity of III MMI, where vibrations were clearly felt inside houses, similar to the sensation of a heavy truck passing by.

“II-III Cianjur, II-III Cibeber, II-III Cilaku, II-III Warungkondang, II-III Cugenang, II-III Campaka, II Sukabumi,” the agency reported.
