M Nasir Dismissed from Post as Aceh Regional Secretary
President Prabowo Subianto has officially and honourably dismissed M. Nasir from his position as Regional Secretary (Sekda) of Aceh Province.
The dismissal was established through Presidential Decree (Keppres) Number 95/TPA of 2026, signed in Jakarta on 21 August 2026.
The decree was subsequently conveyed to the Governor of Aceh through a letter from the Cabinet Support Secretariat, Number R-222/KSN/SDK/PA.01.03/08/2026, dated 22 August 2026. The letter is marked as urgent and includes a copy and excerpt of the Presidential Decree.
“To honourably dismiss Mr. M. Nasir, Junior Principal Supervisor (IV/c), from his position as Regional Secretary of Aceh Province, effective upon his inauguration into a new position, accompanied by gratitude for his dedication and services during his tenure,” read the excerpt of the letter quoted by CNNIndonesia.com on Sunday (23/8).
In the letter, Cabinet Support Secretary Thanon Aria Dewangga requested that the Aceh Government promptly follow up on the President’s decision.
“We kindly request that you notify us of the further implementation of the Presidential Decree and convey the excerpt of the decree to the person concerned,” the letter stated.
With the issuance of the Presidential Decree, M. Nasir has been formally and honourably dismissed from the position of Aceh Regional Secretary in accordance with the President’s decision.
Aceh Government Spokesperson Nurlis Effendi confirmed the information. He has also communicated directly with Aceh Governor Muzakir Manaf, also known as Mualem.
“It is true, that is indeed the case. A replacement has also been prepared, and we will announce it later,” Nurlis told CNNIndonesia.com on Sunday (23/8).
Nurlis conveyed Governor Mualem’s statement that the change was merely a refreshment.
“There are no problems at all. Mr. Nasir has also carried out his duties as Aceh Regional Secretary well. The Governor expresses his gratitude for his assistance,” Nurlis said.
It is known that M. Nasir was inaugurated as Aceh Regional Secretary on 15 August 2025. He was inaugurated by Mualem.
