Luxury Items Including Grand Pianos Moved from Former Hotel Sultan
The process of moving goods from the former Hotel Sultan to a warehouse in Cikarang, West Java, will begin tomorrow, Saturday (20/6/2026). The relocation also includes luxury items from the property formerly managed by PT Indobuildco under Pontjo Sutowo. On one of the floors of the former Hotel Sultan building, there are six grand pianos. These luxury items are scheduled to be moved along with other goods to the warehouse in the Cikarang area. “Yes, that’s right. The grand pianos will also be moved. The movers have already coordinated with the vendor, Yamaha I believe, to ask for assistance in dismantling them. So the moving process can be carried out properly and safely,” said Afrizal Prasetyo Hananto, Head of the Accounting Division of PPKGBK, to reporters at Block 15 of the GBK Complex on Friday (19/6/2026). He added that most of the items to be transported or taken from the Hotel Sultan building are furniture and fixtures. These will be placed in a warehouse that has been prepared. “The main point is that these items do not disrupt the building’s operations. If an item is essential for operations, like air conditioners or lights, we will not take it or move it,” Afrizal stressed. Meanwhile, Kharis Sucipto, the legal representative for the Minister of State Secretary and PPKGBK, explained that once the items are ready, they will be immediately sent to the designated warehouse. The target is to complete the relocation within one month. Regarding the shipment, he said PPKGBK is coordinating with the Traffic Directorate of the Indonesian National Police and the moving team. The truck movements have been carefully planned and will not disrupt traffic flow around the former Hotel Sultan area. The goal is for all buildings in Block 15 of the former Hotel Sultan to be completely vacated. He detailed that the moving process will begin tomorrow morning for packaging and moving. PPKGBK will also check the movers’ schedules for their availability to transport and deliver the items. Kharis stated that the process of moving movable items not attached to the building will comply with the court ruling. The moving team is trusted to have special expertise in packaging and storing items according to procedure. In accordance with the court ruling, the storage will be carried out as well as possible for a period of six months. “Regarding the types of movable goods, the movers already have special expertise to carry out packaging and storage, and of course, in accordance with the court order,” he concluded.
