The luxury pawning company PT Lesca Gadai Premier has reported an increasing trend in luxury goods pawning services during the second quarter of 2026, amidst global financial market volatility and rising liquidity needs among premium customers.

Bastian Purnama, Director of Lesca Gadai Premier, stated that fluctuations in the capital market, interest rate adjustments, and geopolitical uncertainties are prompting investors and high-net-worth individuals to rebalance their portfolios. “They require rapid liquidity to seize business opportunities or maintain cash flow, but do not wish to relinquish assets that have the potential for continued appreciation,” Bastian said in an official statement received in Jakarta on Tuesday.

According to him, luxury goods are no longer viewed merely as status symbols, but also as instruments for value storage or safe havens. “Many entrepreneurs and collectors realise that selling their luxury assets at this time is not a wise move, as the potential for future price increases is very high,” he added.

Lesca stated that it is licensed and supervised by the Financial Services Authority (OJK) and is the first private pawning company in Indonesia to simultaneously hold ISO 9001 certification for quality management systems and ISO 27001 for information security. To support asset valuation services, the company utilises instruments and access to global market databases to determine fair market value as the basis for loan ceilings.

Furthermore, the company provides a ‘white glove service’, where the transaction process—from valuation to fund disbursement—is conducted at the client’s location, eliminating the need to visit a branch. This service targets high-mobility professionals who prioritise privacy, security, and transaction efficiency.

Additionally, Bastian mentioned that the company plans to expand its service reach to Surabaya, Medan, and several other major cities within the next one to two years. “We are optimistic that we can continue to provide a positive contribution to the personal financial stability of our clients in 2026,” he said.

The value of the pawning industry assets during the same period was recorded at IDR 182.84 trillion, representing a 58.77 per cent increase compared to the March 2025 position of IDR 115.16 trillion.
