Banceuy Class IIA Prison in Bandung conducted an inspection of block and cell management across six blocks on Monday (27/9/2026), following the recent controversy regarding luxury facilities at Cibinong Prison. The activity commenced at 09:00 WIB, in accordance with directives from the Director General of Corrections regarding the reinforcement of supervision and the regulation of goods and cell facilities.

The Head of Banceuy Class IIA Prison, Eris Ramdani, stated that the inspection and monitoring activities are part of an effort to prevent security and order disturbances. He noted that the Head of Prison Security, Andhika Saputra, along with staff, directly participated in the enforcement action.

“This activity is a follow-up to the directives from the Director General of Corrections to strengthen supervision, regulate cell facilities, and prevent security and order disturbances within the prison environment,” said Eris.

Eris explained that officers first conducted an assembly and briefing regarding the technical aspects of the inspection and the distribution of tasks. Subsequently, they proceeded to inspect the cells of the inmates.

The Head of the Security Unit at Banceuy Prison, Andhika Saputra, explained that the inspection involved searching and checking goods, facilities, installations, and equipment within the cells of the inmates.

“The targets of this inspection include prohibited or non-compliant items, such as illegal communication and electronic devices, sharp weapons, and items that could cause explosions or fires,” he said.
