Luxury Cars and Triumph Motorcycles Seized by KPK Following Sting Operation on West Jakarta Immigration Official

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has transported several pieces of evidence seized during a sting operation (OTT) involving an official from the West Jakarta Immigration Office to the KPK’s Merah Putih building in Kuningan, South Jakarta.

Observations at the KPK headquarters on Wednesday (3/6/2026) showed a towing truck transporting nine motorcycles, including a Kawasaki Z250, seven dirt bikes, and a Triumph. Another towing vehicle followed, carrying seven mountain bikes, including brands such as Santa Cruz and Nukeproof. Additionally, four cars were identified as evidence, including a Wuling Air EV, a Wuling Cortez, a Honda Civic Nouva, and a Mercedes-Benz E250.

KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo stated that the commission also seized cash in Singapore Dollars (SGD) and US Dollars (USD), as well as gold bullion. In total, the evidence includes seven cars, 15 motorcycles, and 11 bicycles.

“In terms of progress, a dozen individuals have been detained as part of this sting operation. The evidence secured includes vehicles—cars and motorcycles—as well as cash in foreign currencies (USD and SGD) and precious metals (gold),” said Budi. He explained that the operation took place across West Jakarta, West Java, and Bali, and confirmed that the Head of the West Jakarta Immigration Office was among those detained.

The sting operation is related to allegations of bribery concerning the processing of permits for foreign nationals to reside in Indonesia, specifically involving Permanent Stay Permits (KITAP) and Limited Stay Permits (KITAS). While the specific details of the case construction are still being finalised, the investigation focuses on irregularities within the permit application process.

Separately, the Minister of Immigration and Correctional Services, Agus Andrianto, acknowledged knowledge of the sting operation and stated that he respects the ongoing legal process.
