'Lutung Kasarung' performed on stage

JAKARTA (JP): A theatrical performance of one of Indonesia's profound literary pieces, Lutung Kasarung, will be held at the Jakarta Playhouse until tomorrow night.

Several health foundations have organized the Charity Night of Paripurna Theater as a sign of support for Minister of Social Services Endang Kusuma Inten Soeweno's advice to promote wellbeing through proper medical care.

The foundations involved are the Indonesian Asthma Foundation, the Indonesian Cancer Foundation, the Indonesian Heart Foundation, The Indonesian Anti-Tuberculosis Group and The Suddhaprana Foundation of Trustees for Indonesian Asthmatic Children.

Orphans and residents of old people's homes attended last night's opening.

Tonight dignitaries including Vice President Try Sutrisno, Mrs. Tuti Try Sutrisno and patrons of the show will be in attendance.

Performances tonight and tomorrow are open to the public and tickets are available at the Jakarta Playhouse. (02)
