SEMARANG – Central Java Governor Ahmad Luthfi has urged members of the Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association (Hipmi) to be more creative in creating employment opportunities. He assessed that, amid the current global geopolitical and economic conditions, business creativity is key to boosting the regional economy.

“Hipmi consists of young entrepreneurs, so they must have creativity to create jobs; they must be able to create new economic opportunities. Do not wait, but take the initiative,” said Luthfi while attending the Central Java Hipmi Regional Business Forum (Forbisda) at Green Valley Hotel, Bandungan, Semarang Regency, on Sunday (19/4/2026).

Luthfi also asked Hipmi to strengthen collaboration with district and city governments. “Hipmi is part of collaborative government, so it must be observant in each district and city. Attach Hipmi programmes to the programmes of each district and city, meet the regents or mayors. Hipmi must also play a role in labour-intensive industries,” he stated.

In his presentation, Luthfi conveyed that Central Java’s current economic growth is around 5.37 per cent. This achievement was obtained through collaboration with various parties, including Hipmi.

Luthfi hopes this can be improved. This is because the Central Java Provincial Government and district/city governments are currently striving to boost investment.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Central Java Provincial Statistics Agency (BPS), Ali Said, stated that Central Java’s economic growth and investment development have been recorded positively over time. Especially with the presence of special economic zones and industrial areas in several regions that serve as engines of Central Java’s economic growth.

“Investment growth in Central Java in 2025 grew by 6.76 per cent. Previously 6.5 per cent, so the trend is increasingly rising from year to year. This is encouraging for us. The role of entrepreneurs is very significant in driving economic growth,” said Ali.
