Luong to make a three-nation tour

VIETNAM: President Tran Duc Luong is to make a three-nation
Southeast Asian tour later this month covering Indonesia, Brunei
and the Philippines, the foreign ministry said in Hanoi on
Tuesday.

Luong will start his tour in the region's biggest nation of
Indonesia on Saturday, before heading to Brunei next Monday and
the Philippines on Nov. 14.

The president is also due to travel to neighboring Cambodia
Nov. 26-28 for a long-awaited state visit which was canceled late
last year after anti-communist militants attacked government
buildings in Phnom Penh.

Luong is expected to sign a protocol aimed at resolving
lingering border and immigration issues which still divide the
two neighbors. --AFP
