Lunar New Year Holiday: Traffic Heading to Puncak Bogor Heavy This Evening
Traffic heading towards the Puncak area in Bogor Regency, West Java, was heavy this evening, with vehicles queuing at the Gadog intersection leading to Jalan Raya Puncak.
Based on observations at the location on Monday (16/2/2026), vehicles were only able to travel at speeds below 20 km/h. The traffic was predominantly comprised of private cars.
Vehicles were backed up from both the arterial road and the Jagorawi Toll Road, whilst motorcycles were still able to move relatively freely along the left shoulder of the road.
One-way traffic management was implemented twice during the day — first in the morning towards Puncak, and then in the afternoon towards Jakarta.
Meanwhile, traffic heading towards Jakarta appeared to be flowing smoothly. An odd-even number plate policy had been implemented earlier in the morning before the one-way system was activated.
Odd-Even Policy Extends Until Tomorrow
Police had previously prepared traffic management measures for the Lunar New Year holiday period on Jalan Raya Puncak, Bogor, West Java. The measures included an odd-even number plate scheme and a one-way traffic system.
“For the traffic management plan, we will implement anticipatory measures should congestion occur by optimising the one-way system first. Then, before the one-way system is activated, the odd-even policy will be enforced,” said Bogor Police Traffic Unit Deputy Head Iptu Ardian Novianto on Friday (13/2).
Ardian said the odd-even policy had been prepared since this afternoon. Police would enforce the one-way system through to 17 February, coinciding with Lunar New Year.
“The odd-even policy will run until Lunar New Year day, which falls on Tuesday the 17th. Since it has been designated as a joint leave period and a national holiday, we will implement the measures accordingly. So it runs from Saturday through to Tuesday,” he explained.
