JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The alleged theft of Lululemon bags in the cargo area of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport has been confirmed not to involve employees of PT Aviasi Pariwisata Indonesia (InJourney). The perpetrator is identified as a cargo worker from a service provider company operating within the airport.

Assistant Deputy Communication & Legal KC Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Yudistiawan, stated that InJourney Airports requires all workers in all companies within the Soekarno-Hatta Airport area to comply with regulations, refrain from illegal activities, and work together to maintain the airport’s reputation.

“The cargo worker suspected of committing the criminal act, as reported today, Friday, May 15, 2026, is confirmed not to be an employee of InJourney Airports,” said Yudistiawan in a written statement on Friday (May 15, 2026).

He stated that Soekarno-Hatta International Airport fully supports law enforcement processes within the airport environment, including those related to this cargo service case.

“The management of Soekarno-Hatta Airport is always in coordination with the Soekarno-Hatta Police, and we will provide the necessary assistance and support for this case until it is resolved,” said Yudistiawan.

The management of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport is committed to continuously maintaining the security, safety, and operational integrity of the airport, including logistics and cargo activities, through strengthened supervision and coordination with all stakeholders to ensure that airport operations remain safe, orderly, and smooth.

“Synergy and coordination with all stakeholders will continue to be strengthened to maintain the airport area as a safe and conducive environment for all users,” he added.

For information, a total of 108 Lululemon bags were reported missing due to a theft committed by a syndicate in the cargo warehouse area of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport.

According to information on the official Lululemon website, the price of small-sized bags starts at 29 US dollars or approximately IDR 510,000 at the current exchange rate.

As a result of this case, the company’s total losses are estimated at around IDR 213 million.

This loss is calculated based on the average price of Lululemon bags, which is estimated at IDR 1.9 million per unit.

Meanwhile, the perpetrators are suspected of selling the stolen goods to fences at prices far below market value, at around IDR 300,000 per bag.

The theft occurred in the parking area of the Soewarna Warehouse at Soekarno-Hatta Airport on April 13, 2026, at approximately 3:30 PM.

The case began when PT Pungkook Indonesia One sent 4,749 Lululemon bags from Grobogan, Central Java, to Shanghai, China, through Garuda Indonesia’s cargo service.
