Luke Thomas Mahony Appointed Chief Executive Officer of PT Danantara Sumberdaya Indonesia (DSI), Indonesia’s State-Owned Commodity Exporter
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - CEO Danantara, Rosan Roeslani, said Luke Thomas Mahony has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of PT Danantara Sumberdaya Indonesia (DSI). Luke is known to have previously served as a director at PT Vale Indonesia Tbk (INCO). ‘For now, Luke Thomas,’ Rosan said at the Istana Complex in Jakarta, Thursday (21 May 2026). Rosan said the full line-up for PT DSI would be announced officially later, including their backgrounds. He said they are currently strengthening the team. ‘Yes, we are in the process of strengthening the team. Later we will display the full team. You can see the track record and capabilities, just like we built Danantara first,’ he said. There, Rosan said he would also listen to input from business associations. ‘For now we want to hear input. Later this afternoon, from all associations, the KADIN, APINDO, palm oil associations, APBI, coal, and we will also socialise it,’ he said. It is known that President Prabowo Subianto previously stated that the establishment of the company aims to strengthen export oversight while preventing illegal practices in natural resources trade. The illegal practices include under-invoicing, transfer pricing, and foreign exchange outflow from exports. Danantara Indonesia’s Managing Director Stakeholders Management & Communications, Rohan Hafas, said the establishment of PT DSI is a follow-up to President Prabowo Subianto’s mandate to strengthen national export governance. ‘This (PT DSI) is directly under Danantara. The owner with large capital and large size is Danantara,’ he said at a media briefing at Wisma Danantara Indonesia, Jakarta, on Wednesday (20 May 2026), as quoted by Antara. He said Danantara was chosen because it has substantial capital so it is deemed capable of implementing the government’s mandate to improve export governance more effectively.
