Luke Thomas Mahony Appointed as President Director of PT Danantara Sumber Daya Indonesia (DSI)
Jakarta, VIVA – Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Danantara Indonesia, Rosan Roeslani, confirmed that Luke Thomas Mahony has been appointed to serve as the Director of PT Danantara Sumber Daya Indonesia (DSI), the government-created body to manage the export of several commodities. Roeslani, who is Minister of Investment and Hilirisasi and also CEO of Danantara Indonesia, stated that Luke Thomas Mahony has been confirmed to lead PT DSI. ‘For now, Luke Thomas,’ Rosan told reporters at the Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta, on Thursday, 21 May 2026. Luke Thomas is an Australian national who previously served as Director of PT Vale Indonesia. When asked for more details on when an official board announcement would be made, he explained that the leadership team for PT DSI is still being strengthened and an announcement will follow once all board members are determined. ‘You can see his track record; his capabilities are clear, just as we formed Danantara earlier,’ he said. Regarding the formation of PT DSI itself, he said the team is listening to input and conducting socialisation with associations of palm oil commodity entrepreneurs and ferro alloy related to its formation. ‘There was a meeting earlier; we will listen to input first. Later this afternoon, representatives from all associations—Kadin, Apindo, palm oil associations, APBI, coal, all—will join. We will also carry out a socialisation exercise, so we start at 4 pm,’ Rosan said. Previously, President Prabowo Subianto, in a plenary session of the DPR at Nusantara Building, MPR Complex, Jakarta, on Wednesday (20/5), announced that the government had issued a Government Regulation (PP) on the Governance of Export of Natural Resource Commodities (SDA). In the latest PP, Prabowo said that with this rule, state-owned enterprises become the sole exporters for palm oil, coal, and ferro alloys. ‘The sale of all our natural resource outputs will begin with palm oil, coal, and ferro alloys, and we require that it be conducted through a state-owned enterprise appointed by the Government of the Republic of Indonesia as the sole exporter,’ said President Prabowo.
